Revenge of the Sith occupied my time yesterday evening – I went along with some geeks (colleagues) and a Star Wars nut (significant other). Personally, I’m an old school sf fanatic, brought up on a diet of Clarke and Asimov, with plenty of Heinlein, Bradbury and Wells thrown into the mix. For example, I’m dreading to see what they’ve done with War of the Worlds (uhh laaah). On the other hand, Starship Troopers and The Fifth Element are some of my favourite films… Anyway, I digress. Let’s just say that my expectations were such that it would be hard to disappoint me (I’m so diplomatic I could make a politician).
And I was not disappointed – Episode III is one of the funniest movies I have seen in years. From the dramatic “You’re so beautiful because I’m so in love with you”, to the fantastic General Grevious Bodily Harm with his 86 light sabers, to the Sith Lord wasting away, to
AnnDarth Vader “Noooooooooooooooo<snip>”. But the funniest single line in the film was “You are either with me <dramatic pause> or you are my enemy!”… classic!
I absolutely, thoroughly recommend this movie to any sceptics out there, you will find it wonderfully entertaining. I will be going to see it again (and I’m under orders to take it more seriously this time…)!
– May the Force be with you!
